This week I decided to join in the latest GDP again, as these challenges really help me go outside of my comfort zone and help me with colour combinations.
For this project the colour scheme was Flirty Flamingo, Real Red and Whisper White.
As Valentine’s Day is just around the corner it made total colour sense to create something with a Valentine‘s theme in this colour combo.
I used the Detailed Bee Dies, my current fave set of the new SS2020 catalogue, and started by cutting out the honey comb background from a piece of scrap shimmer card I had washed with Flirty Flamingo and an Aquapen. I had done this months ago as an experiment and the piece of card was just sat in my scrap box, so it felt really good to turn it into something pretty.
I cut the bee out in Whisper White cardstock using the Detailed Thinlet plate, as this is super intricate, and this plate cuts it perfectly first time. I added a small heart using the dies from the same set, and dotted a few black dots with a fine liner and popped some Gold Pearls to finish.
I also created a cute little pouch using the same dies and inks, but this time I used a kraft pillowbox cut in half to make a sweetie pouch.
I cut the bee in Whisper White cardstock, then daubed it with Flirty Flamingo and Real Red. Then I punched a white circle using my 2” circle punch, and stuck it to the top of the pouch (as it opens at the bottom for the sweets)
On the reverse side I added sentiments from Label Me Bold stampset, and another little love heart daubed in Real Red. Thanks for taking the time to read my blog. I hope these colours get your Valentine’s juices flowing too.
Beautiful, delicate projects. Thanks for sharing with Global Design Project.
